Session 01: Spaceship Interface (19/06/2021)

In our first meeting we looked at the basics of Arduino, including what it is, why it’s handy to learn and some {fire} examples of what’s been done in the past 🔥.

We then moved on to setting up our kits (see Projects Book: pages 32 – 41), typed up our code onto the Arduino software (IDE) by copying the text with the blue background on pages 36 – 39 verbatim, then troubleshooted any issues until the LEDs lit up as we programmed. And YAY, cool little spaceship control panels were birthed! Some people then tinkered with the program some more to make the kit light up in different ways. But you can also leave it be and proceed to act out the dialogue with your other ship crew members and the friendly purple alien you’re about to send home.
